Industry Insiders Talk Britney’s Vegas Ticket Sales

Britney’s “Piece Of Me” ticket sales are underperforming and those involved in the show are “worried,” a supposed industry insider tells RadarOnline.com.

Brit’s opening show kicks off December 27, and out of the 16 dates scheduled so far, only the first three have sold out.

“After spending hundreds of thousands on promo, they expected to instantly sell out all of the first 16 shows, but they didn’t come close! In fact, Britney only sold out three of the 16 shows put on sale and many are considering this a disaster.”
The source says Celine and Shania traditionally sell out the entire block of shows once tickets go on sale.

“There are nearly 50 shows a year and the theater is small…it only holds about 4,500 people,” the source said.

“So all of this put together really isn’t looking well for Britney. Ticket sales need to start skyrocketing or else there’s going to be a lot of disappointed investors and people involved with the show.”

However, the Las Vegas Sun sings a different tune, telling readers Caesars Entertainment is very pleased so far with the sales, saying:

“It prompted a virtual flood of ticket sales and hotel-room bookings.”
Tariq Shaukat, chief marketing officer for Caesars Entertainment, says of the first 24 hours tickets went on sale: “We’re very pleased, and, as we suspected, interest in Britney is very high from all over.”

Sales for the first group of 16 shows through February are still going strong five months out.
Kurt Melien, VP of entertainment, said: “It will be a big Las Vegas-style production show married to a dance-club environment. It’s a 90- to 100-minute show with 21 of her greatest, hits and some of the new music from her eighth studio album being released Dec. 3. It’s a retrospective on some of the most iconic moments of her life combined with the contemporary material she’s doing today.”

“We are going to have all the works — snow, water, rain, everything. Every time I do a show, I like to really bring it. I love to put on a show that will really entertain fans. We want the feeling that fans will be in the show with me. We’re going to have a cool set-up for them with a party vibe so they are really there with me.”

Planet Hollywood President David Hoenemeyer said, “We have the world’s largest indoor-projection theater, so it will be an explosive theatrical experience where the audience can dance the night away as they relive their favorite Britney moments.”
Britney’s receiving $15 million a year for two years to perform just under 100 shows and is contractually obligated to solely perform in Vegas until the residency concludes.

“I’m very ready for this. I’m ready physically, mentally — definitely,” Britney said. “I love Las Vegas, and the energy is really, really good. The show will be completely different from what everybody might be expecting. It’s the best project I’ve ever tackled. It couldn’t be more exciting.”
