5 Reasons to see Britney in Vegas
Sure, Britney Spears lip-syncs through most of her Las Vegas show, but that's really nothing new for one of the world's biggest pop stars – she's been doing it for years.
At the end of the day, it's still the one and onlyBritney Spears on stage, and that should be enough to get you to go and see her Piece of Meshow at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
But if you need any more convincing, here are five more reasons.
1. She's an angel.
In one of the prettier moments of the 90-minute show, Spears descends to the stage wearing enormous white angel wings while performing her 2003 hit "Everytime." The slower arrangement is a rare break from the mainly up-tempo show.
Prior to opening night, Spears said she was working harder than she ever had. It showed. Spears looked great on stage, proudly showing off her fit physique. During several numbers, Spears wore little more than what appeared to be a swimsuit. She may not be in "Hit Me Baby One More Time" shape, but the girl has put in some Work (B––)!
3. You never know who you'll see.
Girl power was in full effect during Friday's opening night. Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry both sat front and center at Planet Hollywood's Axis Theatre to see Spears. But they weren't the only stars in attendance –Jersey Shore's Pauly D was there, as was Adam Lambert, and Extra host Mario Lopez was brought onstage during "Freak Show" (and crawled across the floor as Spears pulled him around on a leash).
4. The theater looks amazing.
Early in the show Friday, Spears asked the crowd, "Isn't this theater beautiful?" That may be an understatement. The hotel spent a reported $20 million to renovate the once nondescript theater, turning it into an energetic venue with hundreds of ever-changing screens, lasers and even high-priced bottle service. Somehow hotel executives figured out a way to make a 4,600-seat venue feel like a large nightclub.
5. She spans the hits.
Simply put, you will know every song, whether you're a Spears fan or not. The "Perfume" singer doesn't shy away from the early hits that put her on the map, nor does she focus entirely on her new album, Britney Jean. She covers a lot of ground from her entire career. Even though most of the vocals are prerecorded, the girl still knows how to put on a show.
